Senior Windows Systems Administrator
Overview We are seeking a full-time Senior Windows Systems Administrator in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for performing and planning management and administration of technology in area of specialty while working with team members to ensure technology is effectively supporting enterprise systems. Essential Functions Designs and develops complex, integrated solutions to meet business requirements or enhance performance of Garmin’s windows server computing systems Performs and evaluates costs analysis and vendor comparisons from small through large scale projects to ensure cost-effective and efficient operations Measures feasibility of various approaches and makes recommendations Continuously develops technical subject matter expertise on established and emerging server, storage, email, file, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, DFS and other server-based technologies Communicates effectively regarding system operations and environment changes Adheres to SOX, PCI, and other regulatory requirements as dictated Understands and avoids capacity, redundancy, and health constraints of server, storage, email, file, and collaboration systems Ensures that all security requirements are met or exceeded and designs and implements effective monitoring of enterprise systems Provides technical input to solution development plans and concept documents and foresees risks and communicates and mitigates those before problems arise Shares knowledge and actively mentors less experienced IT Administrators (Administrator 1 & 2) Performs and plans major version upgrades and tunes systems using experience and deep knowledge of area Plans and manages technical projects involving other teams and communicates technology effectively to non-technical associates and management Recognizes and understands technology impacts within the business Contributes to technical research on new technologies, processes or procedures and documents technical designs and procedures for team library Provides 24x7 on-call support Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business or related field AND a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience Proficient with Active Directory and server maintenance in larger enviornments Ability to author and implement basic scripting and coding to automate technical needs such as to move files, backup, create configuration, or other tasks Demonstrated ability to implement new technologies effectively and demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work documentation and organization Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Desired Qualifications HyperV or AzureStack HCI experience Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
