The Senior Wireless Network Engineer is the lead for operations and maintenance of Wireless Networks at UCLA Health Hospitals and Clinics. This role requires hand-on experience in design, implementation, optimization and administration of Wireless LAN in healthcare settings.
This position requires the ability to configure and deploy Aruba & Cisco Wireless LAN Products like Wireless Controllers, Access Points, Network Management System, Location Services platforms, AAA/NAC servers like ClearPass, ISE. In addition, Senior Wireless Engineer will lead the Wireless network optimization efforts like RF survey, predictive design, configuration gap analysis & remediation. Incumbent is also responsible for leading the Wireless Network Operations handling incidents and service requests from the Business, Patients & Visitors, providing periodic status updates and timely resolution of the problem. This role requires on-site presence for Operational support and preventative maintenance of the Wireless infrastructure.
The incumbent will be responsible for supporting NAC (Network Access Control) on Wired and Wireless networks.
This position also requires participation in 24×7 On-Call rotation providing after hours support for all technologies and products UCLA Health IT supports which includes Campus Routing/Switching, Data Center ACI, Voice, Wireless & WAN.
This flexible hybrid role allows for a blend of remote and on-site work, requiring presence on-site at least 24 hours/week, within 2-hours of being asked to come on site, or as needed based on operational requirements. Please note, travel to the “home office” location is not reimbursed. Each employee will complete a FlexWork Agreement with their manager to outline expectations and ensure mutual understanding. These arrangements are periodically reviewed and may be adjusted or terminated as necessary.
Salary offers are based on a variety of factors including qualifications, experience, and internal equity. The full salary range for this position is $102,500 – 227,700 annually. The University anticipates offering a salary between $102,500-$140,000 annually.
