Sensor Subsystem Engineer

In this position... 
This role is a combination of hands-on dyno and vehicle testing combined with detailed analytical analysis of the gathered data. In addition, you will:
-Develop and validate the subsystem level functionality of powertrain sensors.
-Develop Specialty instrumentation for sensor measurements as required.
-Lead Feature Expert List (FEL) for sensor calibration values used in production vehicles.
-Benchmark competitors in key system attributes related to exhaust sensors.
-Support sensor level problem solving investigation on pre-production and production vehicles.

You'll have... 
BS Engineering degree required: Electrical engineering with strong mechanical understanding or Mechanical engineering background with strong electrical understanding is preferred.
2+ years of experience with various data acquisition tools such as Oscilloscopes, CAN interfaces, Calibration tool interfaces and custom microprocessors. 
2+ years of experience in post processing data in Matlab or equivalent tools.
2+ years of experience with microprocessor software and software development.

Even better, you may have...
MS Engineering degree.
Must be able to manage multiple concurrent assignments with proper prioritization.
Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills are necessary to be successful in this position.

What you'll do...
Develop and validate the subsystem level functionality of powertrain sensors:
Development of optimized sensor subsystem functionality focused on improved sensor accuracy and consistency to provide functional and emissions compliance on next generation systems. 
Lead robustness studies into subsystem capability to meet necessary functional requirements for all of vehicle fleet over full useful life of the vehicles. 
Support Calibration technical community in reviewing future sensor implementation and ensuring proper function. 
Develop requirements for development hardware to interface with new sensors.
Implement overall instrumentation for special test vehicles and define special monitoring on vehicles with continuous flight recorders. 

Develop Specialty instrumentation:
Develop special testing HW based on microprocessor and development board designs including the associated software.

Lead Feature Expert List (FEL) for sensor calibration values used in production vehicles.
Benchmark competitors in key system attributes related to exhaust sensors
Support sensor level problem solving investigation on pre-production and production vehicles.
Lead system level robustness documentation on exhaust sensors with core design and release engineers. 
Detailed experience in FMEA, P-diagram and validation testing is preferred. 

Key Sensors activities:
Gasoline LEV4 exhaust sensor subsystem development ---focusing on life aging and accuracy improvements on sensors and subsystems. 
Lead studies of improved exhaust system designs for optimal emissions and sensor availability.
Support LIN based coolant level sensors.
Lead oil level subsystem verification process.
Support SENT sensor subsystem verification.
