Sensory & Product Insights Analyst
Job Title: Insights Analyst

Job Description

Conduct product and consumer research, analyzing resulting data to ensure optimized product acceptance and ongoing product quality. The job scope covers all aspects of sensory science, experimental design, and consumer insight from a product-focused perspective. This role requires 3 years of experience.

ResponsibilitiesOrganize all tests and ensure personnel resources are available to execute a testEfficiently execute internal tests in a scientific mannerOrganize and conduct shelf-life testingLearn a variety of new product testing and data analysis softwareProficiently perform statistical analysis and interpretation of traditional sensory dataUnderstand discrimination, descriptive, and affective sensory tests, and know when, why, and how to use various methodsDevelop strong questionnaires to understand consumer behaviorTrain technicians on product preparation and test executionAnalyze sensory data and write clear, understandable technical reports with actionable recommendationsDevelop, expand, and maintain databases of panelists and sensory dataMaintain lab stock supplies, organization, and cleanlinessSupport the manager and senior analyst in test design and completionSupport sensory evaluator training programs by assisting in developing tools and documentationMonitor panel performance and train panelists on references for global lexicon and/or descriptive analysis panelsCollaborate with Quality Operations to implement appropriate documents for training materialsAccurately format documents using advanced tools in MS Word and ExcelBuild and maintain relationships with assigned joint venture partners, internal support functions, and professional associationsStreamline and maintain the file/document management systemManage administrative aspects of multiple simultaneous projectsEssential Skills3 years of experience in product development or QA in the food industry1-3 years of experience in data analysis3 years of experience in consumer or market researchProficiency with Microsoft Office SuiteStrong knowledge of sensory science and statistical analysisAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with new product testing and data analysis softwareAbility to develop and understand detailed questionnairesExperience in training technicians and panelistsExcellent technical report writing skillsStrong organizational and cleanliness habitsAbility to work collaboratively and supportively within a teamWork Environment

This role operates within a hybrid work environment, requiring 3 days onsite. The team is highly collaborative and supportive, consisting of 3 members who perform similar tasks. The Insights Analyst will be reporting directly to the hiring manager. This position provides the opportunity to be on the front lines of innovation within the beverage and food sector, interacting with cross-functional partners and seeing both existing and new products.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr.
