Sensory Scientist; 风味检验专家
Overview This role is within the R&D Sensory & Consumer Experience Competitive Intelligence Team (EXP-CI). Our mission, grounded in the voice of the consumer, is to transform competitive consumer data into insights, to deliver quality advantage for products-icons. We also have a strong focus on Sensory Quality Monitoring through sensory testing of finished beverages. Responsibilities • Manage and govern the execution of key Sensory Programs focused on Quality Assurance and Competitive Intelligence. • Work with the global EXP-CI team on setting up and/ or leading key EXP-CI programs and projects. • Lead the on-boarding of a fully Managed Sensory Service in the Guangzhou EXP-CI laboratory. • Provide governance for all testing executed by the Sensory Managed Services in the lab and ensure all testing is conducted according to PepsiCo approved testing procedures. • Support the roll-out and govern the execution of existing and new plant Sensory Capability Programs, including on-site Sensory Training globally. • Lead Sensory Community of Practise (CoP) sessions for the AMESA and APAC regions and work closely with global EXP-CI colleagues on ensuring a consistent approach to building sensory capability through CoP’s and Training sessions. • Be a strong partner in cross-functional collaboration across R&D, Insights, Marketing on Competitor Programs and Initiatives. • Responsible for stakeholder engagement and management in AMESA and APAC on all key Sensory Programs governed by the Guangzhou EXP-CI laboratory. Ensure effective and efficient communication to key stakeholders. • Work closely with sister lab in Cork to ensure alignment on all global programs executed by the EXP-CI team. • Proficient in the data analysis and interpretation of Sensory & Consumer data. Provide insights and status updates to key stakeholders in the business on a regular basis. • Provide field issue support and new plant support to the business. Track plant and region plant performance, identify areas for improvement. • Design, develop and implement new products and/or new testing methods in the lab. • (Co-)Lead (global) initiatives to measure Consumer Experience including Packaging Appearance, Opening Experience and Sensory Experience. • Lead foundational, custom competitive research, including regional competitive understanding for new emerging competitors. • Support the development, implementation and next steps of the roadmap of key Sensory & Consumer Experience programs through innovative & strategic thinking. • Support the development and implementation of the lab strategy through participation in relevant teams and projects. • Ensure flexibility within the department by acting as back up as required. • Serves as Sensory & Consumer Experience representative on business teams and confers with research and development, marketing, packaging, and other departments. • Demonstrate adherence to site Health & Safety and Good Laboratory Practice policies and procedures. • Policies and procedures: o Ensure that all sensory testing & lab activities follow PepsiCo QMS procedures. o Foster a culture of continual improvement for the laboratory. o Manage health, safety and environmental responsibilities for the laboratory to ensure employee and community welfare. Qualifications • Degree/Diploma in Sensory Sciences, Nutritional Sciences, Food Science /Technology, or equivalent. • 5+ years sensory experience preferably in the Food Industry. • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Power point). • Excellent writing, presentation and communication skills. • Strong organizational, time-management and teamwork skills. • A self-starter, proactive in delivering results & with a drive to increase efficiency. • Positive attitude and ability to work in a cross functional and global environment (cultural awareness). • Working as part of a global team in a subject matter expertise role is advantageous. • Flexibility regarding priority changes. • Cooperate with co-workers within an organized team environment or work alone without supervision. • Manage time effectively to complete assignments in expected time frame. • Willing to travel cross-continentally if required.
