Job Title: Sensory Technician

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Sensory Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in sciences, preferably in Food Science, and possess experience in a laboratory setting. The role involves running sensory tests, assisting in sessions, and managing sensory panels. This position is perfect for someone with a keen interest in sensory testing and product quality.

ResponsibilitiesAdminister sensory and consumer tests following the Sensory Specialist's/Scientist's and Sr Technician's instructions and best practices.Build sessions in sensory software, prepare and code samples, and provide samples to panelists.Manage products under tests, including procurement, storage, and disposal.Contribute to checking panel data and building results reports.Schedule, plan, and execute informal tastings, including product preparation, ballot development, and reporting.Participate in informal tastings to provide guidance as needed.Oversee all acuity testing requirements for discrimination panel recruitment, including onboarding, lab orientation, lab setup, and maintaining records of monthly attendance and performance.Administer information and feedback, such as report cards.Assist in the training and management of sensory panels.Screen, train, and monitor the performance of internal and external panels or support these activities.Maintain records of external panel attendance and performance and administer panel information.Assist in some analysis and reporting of sensory results using appropriate sensory software for data acquisition and analysis.Summarize and report results.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in sciences (Food Science preferred).Experience in a laboratory setting.Experience with sensory testing.Knowledge of sensory evaluation methodologies, procedures, and processes.Proficiency in safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Good Laboratory Practices.Focus on product quality.Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.Computer literacy (MS-Office and dedicated sensory software).Basic level of English (written and oral).Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in sensory laboratory management is a plus.Technical training in a scientific or food-related field is a plus.Work Environment

This position involves establishing a new industry between food and pharmaceuticals, focusing on therapeutic nutrition. The work environment emphasizes safety, effectiveness, and cost-efficiency to become a leader in therapeutic nutrition.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
