Northrop Grumman is seeking an Electrical Engineer / Principal Electrical Engineer.  This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel program.  This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What You’ll Get to Do: 

The selected candidate will join a lab design team researching, planning, designing, and implementing test-specific mechanical and electrical systems and instrumentation. You will engineer design solutions to challenging problems through the development of Product Definition Packages (PDP). PDPs consists of 2D drawings and 3D models (NX), various design analyses/assessments (structural/thermal), bill of materials and parts lists, and requirements. Candidate must be able to work independently, function in a dynamic environment, and be flexible to changing direction. Specific roles and duties include: 

Design of mounting solutions for electronic componentsThermal and load analyses of test hardwareDesign of instrumentation systems for collecting thermal, stress/strain, and current/voltage information from systems under testWork across disciplines and functional groups to maintain list of measurements and instrumentation requirementsDesign of test-specific cables and wiring harnessesLab floorplan and interconnect diagram design/maintenanceSome travel may be required to Promontory, UT, Colorado Springs, CO, and/or Vandenberg SFB, CA.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

Electrical Engineer

2 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's Degree in a STEM related field of study; 0 years with a Masters.2+ years of experience using CAD design tools (i.e. NX, CATIA, Capital, etc.)2+ years of experience with electro-mechanical or instrumentation system development and design2+ years of experience in creating a PDP or PDP-like PLM product

Principal Electrical Engineer

5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's Degree in a STEM related field of study; 3 years with a Masters; 1 years with a PhD5+ years of experience using CAD design tools (i.e. NX, CATIA, Capital, etc.)5+ years of experience with electro-mechanical or instrumentation system development and design5+ years of experience in creating a PDP or PDP-like PLM product

Required for both levels:

US Citizenship with an Active Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years) with the ability to receive a Special Access Program (SAP) certification.Ability to operate independently with minimal supervisionAbility to communicate effectively with customer counterparts and other engineering disciplines

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

Salary Range: $77,200.00 - $115,800.00Salary Range 2: $95,300.00 - $142,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
