Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector is looking for a Staff Chief Engineer – Support and Training in our SDS Division. This leadership role is located in Roy, Utah, and supports the Sentinel program.

Provide leadership, technical expertise in the Logistic Support disciplines (Engineering to design for excellence in Sustainment, Supportability and Integration; etc.)Support as Deputy to Restructure Chief Engineer to integrate restructure activities with existing EMD execution in the areas of Product Support and Training Systems development and deploymentDevelopment and execution of long-range plans and strategies while providing the most effective Technology Solutions to the programAwareness of best practices and act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Logistics analysis, support equipment development, mechanical design and Weapon System IntegrationDeploy architectures that aligns automation data integration with the Digital Engineering EnvironmentBuild technical roadmaps in support of program and organizational goals to achieve affordability and cost reduction initiative targetsApply and develop highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories and conceptsActs as advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applicationsAdditional responsibilities may include:
Partner with the Sentinel EMD Support and Training Chief Engineer to ensure overall Support and Training System design integrity satisfies USG Weapon System requirementsTake leadership role in providing insight and knowledge transfer to others on internal and external technical solutions to solve complex problemsDevelop advanced technological ideas and guide development into final productBasic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) with at least 12 years of progressive engineering experience; 10 years with Master’s; 8 years with PhD.Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application with an investigation completed within the last 6 yearsMust have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needsExperience in weapons system development and/or sustainment in Product Support and/or Training SystemsDemonstrated ability to address complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingeniousMust possess excellent leadership, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skillsSelf-starter with strong program technical leadership skillsAbility to leverage experience/background to bring alternative ideas/solutions to the teamThese Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
A proven track record of developing and implementing strategies for changeAerospace / Missile Industry ExperienceDemonstrated role in Product Support and/or Training Systems leading team to achieve critical organizational objectivesExperience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes and approaches leveraging modern MBSE processes & toolsIdeal candidate will have experience in a technical leadership on teams with 10+ individualsAbility to integrate, engage, and lead team to perform at top level of performanceStrong partnership/collaboration skills. This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Salary Range: $147,700.00 - $221,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
