Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Software Engineering Manager 2.  This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program.  This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

 What You’ll Get To Do;

Assess and address staffing needs in collaboration with team leadsSupport recruitment activities, including creating requisitions, conducting interviews, and approving offersWork with program software managers and technical leads to establish goals and perform evaluationsProvide career development, mentoring, and discipline for subordinates.Acquire necessary tools and equipment for team members and develop training plansCommunicate company and organizational status to the team and represent the Software Engineering organization.

Technical Responsibilities (80%):

Set and promote high standards for engineering developmentFoster a working environment aligned with Northrop Grumman valuesPartner with peers to ensure resource allocation for mission prioritiesCoach and motivate team members for high performancePerform software engineering tasks as defined by the program support team.

Functional Management (20%):

Perform functional management activities alongside program responsibilities

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. 

You’ll bring These Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of software development experienceActive U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain Special Access Program (SAP)Experience in software development (C++, JavaScript, SQL) and Agile principles

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearanceExperience with performance assessments, MBSE, UML design, and Kubernetes.Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.Experience with complex engineering systems and software development processes.

Salary Range: $135,100.00 - $202,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
