Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Manager Software Engineering 3.  This position will be located in Huntsville, AL or Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program.  This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

As a Software Sys and Test Engineering Manager 3 you will be the leader for a team of software engineers.  These engineers will be designing and developing software products to provide the Nuclear Command and Control (NC2) software solutions to the C2 organization in support of the Sentinel EMD program.

What You’ll Get To Do: 

 Leads a team of frontline Test managers / SW managers and individual contributors in support of product integration and verificationDevelop and direct preparation and execution HW/SW integration activities to support comprehensive tests and schedules for completing systemsCoordinating integration and testing activities working in a dynamic people-focused environmentDirect oversight of integration and coordination with lab operations teamsResponsible for the development of integration plans, test processes and integration of HW/SW unitsResponsible for CDRL deliveries aligned with TPWG and Verification reporting requirements.Ensuring members have sufficient statement of work and resources are balanced across various efforts.Managing member performance and supervising employee development and mentoring efforts (including engagement strategies for higher performers and corrective actions for lower performers)Coordinating with Sentinel leadership to ensure appropriate staffing / de-staffing actions are developed and executed relative to their department and managing employee movement.Meeting budget targets and interpreting higher level guidance for implementation within the organization for process implementation and improvement.Managing program requirements and accurately forecasting work scope for program leadershipRapid response to leadership on requests for programmatic status, and early communication of challenges to executionImplementation of agile software development practices to support defense contract development programsPerform as a leader within the Command-and-Control C2 organization

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. 

You’ll Bring These Qualifications: 

8 years of relevant experience with bachelor’s degree or an additional 4 years of related experience in lieu of degreeActive DoD Secret security clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years.U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)1+ year experience in EVMS in an Agile environment.3+ years in formal/lead management position.1+ year managing software development programs.1+ year experience with integrating commercial off the shelf (COTS) and subcontractor submissions with prime deliverables”Familiarity with Software Test Lifecycle in an agile environment

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have: 

Effectively communicate and present to project and program management, other technical managers, and customers.Excellent technical writing skills, and team building skills.Subcontractor technical oversight experience.Demonstrated experience leading a team of technical contributors.Previous access to SAP.Experience with the Sentinel weapon system, especially Command & Launch.Earned Value Management Experience.Experience with Confluence and JIRA.Strong ability to communicate unique problems and recommend potential process/business solutions in an Agile environment.Successful track record of program performance, interpersonal team building skills, and management experience.

Salary Range: $161,500.00 - $267,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
