This position has a base rate of $15.85 per hour, with opportunities for pay premiums, shift differentials and overtime where applicable. Annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities The overall purpose of this position, i.e., what it accomplishes at Perdue and/or why it exists is: To load hatcher dollies full of chicks into the de stacker, while keeping flocks separated. While keeping flocks properly separated, load hatcher dollies into the stacker. Properly operate the tray stacker and separator. Using proper lifting techniques, stack trays of chicks weighing up to 30 lbs. onto conveyor. This position requires bending and reaching from 5” from the floor to 6’ in height. Using proper lifting techniques, place individual trays onto separator conveyor at a rate of 11 trays per minute. Clean up after harvesting has been completed using water hoses, detergents, and disinfectants. Some hard scrubbing is required, while wearing proper PPE Using proper bending and lifting techniques, use a water hose to wash hatcher dollies and lids. Dollies will weigh approximately 20 – 25 lbs. Any other duties assigned by management. Must follow poultry welfare guidelines. Minimum Education High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience Requirements Reading and writing skills required. Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements Exposed to temperatures ranging from 60 to 105 degrees Fahrenheit and humidities up to 100%. Exposed to chemicals, drugs and vaccines to be covered in MSDS training and hazardous communications. Use personal protective equipment as required. Ability to lift 4 lbs. to a height of 6 feet, to push 75 lbs. a distance of 75 feet and lift 20 - 25 lbs. to a height of 3 feet. Must be able to work in a wet, damp, dusty (chick down) environment.
