**Job Summary and Qualifications**
The Stroke Coordinator leads and facilitates the development, implementation and ongoing adherence to the identification and treatment of strokes. The Stroke Coordinator is responsible for all programmatic responsibilities including but not limited to:
+ Responsible for facilitating and coordinating the key elements of the Stroke Center Certification process, including development and review of protocols/policies
+ Works with facility clinical leaders and as a member of the clinical interdisciplinary team to assure successful quality patient outcomes for these patient populations.
+ Supports direct care staff to assure successfully completed components of disease specific metric performance. The same efforts will contribute and support the acquisition and maintenance of regulatory disease specific certification (DSC).
+ Acts as committee chair for Stroke Committee. Facilitates and maintains minutes for these committees to support regulatory compliance and demonstrate ongoing process improvement.
+ Manages data and related databases for demonstration and measurement of disease specific metrics and DSC maintenance.
+ Aggregates and reports on data relevant to certification programs in relevant committees
+ Continually analyzes performance to identify education needs for process improvement and improvement of patient outcomes.
+ Assists in assuring that appropriate standards of care and policies are in place in partnership wit
**What qualifications you will need:**
+ Graduate of accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred
+ 3-5 years clinical experience
+ Unencumbered Virginia license
+ American Heart Association BLS or CPR through American Red Cross (may be obtained within three months acceptance/hire date).
