Job Description

The primary responsibility of this position is to serve food and beverage items to the guests following the procedures taught during training. Serve guests quickly and efficiently with complete knowledge of food and beverage menus. Adept at all service functions while interacting with guest and maintaining a clean, safe and professional environment.

Responsibilities Greet all guest with enthusiasm and friendlinessAcknowledge and greet all guests, anticipate guest needs, and respond to guest inquiries or requestsEffectively merchandises food and beverage menus in an informative manner, friendly and enthusiastic mannerCommunicates with food and beverage staff to ensure guest satisfactionClean and resetting of dirty tables according to standardsCleaning and polishing of water glasses and silverwareMonitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areasPrepares dining room and work area for either opening or closing accordance with company standardsSet tables with clean pressed linen, china, silverware and glasswareEnsure dining room furniture and floors are kept clean and arrangedAttends staff meetings to receive information and directionContributes to a professional workplace that maximizes employee moral, productivity and effectiveness. Works well with a diverse FOH and BOH staffPerforms additional responsibilities although not detailed, as requested by a managerInsures responsible service of alcohol by following all legal requirements including carding and consumptionAccurately takes food and beverage orders from guests and promptly records all transactions in the Micros system. Maintains guest tabs and facilitates payment following proceduresServes food and beverage to guests following company steps of service and adheres to service timesFollows daily checklists and side work. Set-ups, stocks and breakdown of service and dining room following procedures. Completes all assigned cleaning duties. Complies with direction and instruction from the management team Qualifications

Qualifications:

Maintains full knowledge of menus, recipes, wine, liquor, beer, and any other pertinent informationConstantly increasing knowledge of food, wine, beer, liquor and other products and servicesCommitment to quality service, and food and beverage knowledgeMust have strong communication skillsAbility to work calmly and effectively under pressureMust have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated and organizedMust be able to work under moderate supervisionMust have an unexpired tips certificationMaintains a clean and professional image at all timesSpeaks to guests with enthusiasm at all timesAbility to understand and follow written and verbal instructionsMust be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidaysMust be at least 21 years of ageMust be able to demonstrate competency as outlined in the training scheduleExcellent people skills and outgoing personalityExperience in a hospitality industry in similar positionPrevious guest service training in a luxury resort environmentMust have knowledge of the floor plan and table numbers as outlined in training

 

Physical Requirements:

This position will spend 95% of the time standing and 5% of the time sittingThe individual must be able to transport up to 50 pounds on occasion and up to 35 pounds regularlyAbility to bend and reach above head holding up to 10 pounds frequently

Occasional environmental exposures to cold and heatMust show ability to work in a fast paced environmentAbility to work in a team oriented environmentPossesses stamina and energy to remain active and move quickly for up to 10 hour shiftsAbility to hear, understand and respond to guest and staff requests in a loud environment
