Job Description:

Note: This is a tipped position. Pay is the NYC minimum for tipped employees ($11/hr. plus $5.50/hr. tip credit, when applicable) plus tips.

As a server assistant at Next Door by Wegmans, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional service by supporting the front of house team. You’ll ensure seamless communication between the kitchen and servers, helping deliver orders promptly while maintaining food quality. By assisting servers and expediters, you’ll help create a flawless dining experience, ensuring every guest leaves with a reason to return.

What will I do?

Prepare things necessary to seamlessly serve our guests including but not limited to polishing glassware and silverware, restocking items, and preparing water for serversAssist server team as necessary to ensure guest needs are being met while ensuring servers can focus their time on interacting with guestsDeliver dishes to the guests' tables with a sensitivity to time and an understanding of the importance of maintaining the integrity of the foodEnsure a positive guest experience by maintaining tables and serving guests in an attentive, courteous and efficient manner with the aim of maintaining a positive and energetic atmosphere at every table and providing a reason to returnPrepare the dining room and bars for service with exceptional attention to detail; ensure all areas are clean, organized and well-stockedMaintain a high level of awareness of the work being done by the front and back of house teams to provide proactive assistanceExecute in-depth cleaning and sanitation of restaurant facility; follow opening, closing and side work checklists and complete tasks in a timely mannerStudy menu changes and attend beverage classes whenever possible to continue to grow food and beverage knowledgeLearn about special events and general restaurant operations to provide support and perform additional tasks as needed

Required Qualifications

Experience working in restaurant service or other industry experienceEnthusiasm for and knowledge of relevant products and services

Preferred Qualifications

Customer service experience in the hospitality industry
