General Summary of Duties: Responsible for providing exceptional customer service in all aspects of a full service fine-dining restaurant.
Typical Physical/Mental Demands: Requires prolonged walking and maneuvering through crowded areas; ability to lift, carry and manipulate supplies weighing up to fifty (50) pounds; requires the sense of taste, smell, sound and touch; requires bending and/or reaching from floor level to approximately six (6) feet in height; requires eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity; ability to distinguish letters, figures or symbols; work accurately with intermediate math; ability to see; ability to communicate directly and telephonically with guests, management and staff in English; understands and complies with policies and procedures, job description and other instructions.
Typical Working Conditions: Work is performed in a restaurant environment; with limited access space in the restaurant area; continual guest contact required; ability to tolerate varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, air quality and food smells.
Example of Duties (includes but is not limited to the following):
Understand and adhere to Grand Victoria Casino and Food and Beverage standards, policies and procedures. Obtain a basic understanding of the Internal Control System (ICS) and Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS). Ability to comply with and maintain Grand Victoria Casino’s Family Style Service Standards. Maintain high levels of appearance at all times. Utilize alcohol awareness training at all times. Verify legal drinking age. Enter all guests’ orders in the Point of Sale (POS) system. Ensure that food presentation is appealing. Record tips received on a daily basis through Kronos Timekeeping System. Ability to upsell food and beverage items, including knowledgeable wine service. Perform all other tasks that may be assigned in the future.Performance Requirements (knowledge, skills and abilities): Ability to read, write and speak in English; excellent organizational and coordination skills; ability to perform intermediate math; prior knowledge and exposure in the food industry; knowledge of wines; ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information; skill in developing and maintaining guest relations; establish and maintain an effective working relationship with IGB, management, staff, co-workers and guests; team oriented; enjoy working with and assisting people; ability to understand questions and instructions from supervisors, co-workers and guests; ability to work any shift.
Qualifications: High school diploma/GED preferred; prior serving experience in a restaurant required.
Certificate/License: Level 3 Occupational Illinois Gaming Board License; Illinois Sanitation Certification; Illinois Alcohol Awareness Certification
