The Server Storage Engineer Lead will provide technical direction within the team and the Information Systems department. Assists peers and mentors less experienced team members through applying and sharing technical knowledge, guidance, and direction. Synthesizes analysis, identifies root causes, and develops and recommends essential work products. Delivers technical solutions for Computer Systems hardware and software, Operating systems, services, and applications. Leads the team in developing complex evaluation, development, implementation, integration, and administration of internal and external business solutions. Provides insight into management on issues. Supports the mission, vision, values, and strategic goals of Keck Medicine The Server Storage Engineer Lead works at the strategic level. It is responsible for the leadership and management efforts involved in the resolution of complex, interrelated business and technical issues associated with the information systems of Keck Medicine of USC. The strategic elements of this position require analytical skills to assist in defining business requirements and help the business develop technical solutions. This may include developing business models and systems to meet the global information needs of the business, designing and proposing architectural standards, and performing technical feasibility studies. Incumbents at this level evaluate and review IT software and systems and prepare evaluation reports, which are reviewed with business technical management. In addition, incumbents are crucial in defining and resolving system performance, data, and architecture issues, planning, and participating in significant system installations.
Essential Duties:
Working knowledge of designing, installing, maintaining, and configuring enterprise services infrastructure and applications based on Microsoft Windows Server, VMWare, and hyper-converged infrastructure.Requires a high level of analytical ability to find solutions to complex technical or administrative problems to determine economic feasibility or available options, and assess the time involved in system changes.Thorough documentation and business language skills.Must be able to demonstrate extensive experience with VMWare, Windows Server Operating System, Storage systems, data retention, hardware facilities, and experience with system design, capacity planning, and capacity management.Must communicate the impact and solutions of application/system problems in business language.Requires a professional and collaborative approach in all situations.Must resolve problems entirely by either completing the work or gathering all the resources needed for the ultimate resolution and continuity of problem management.Ability to work any hours to support 24/7 operations.Availability to travel between Keck Medicine of USC and other facilities.Other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:
