Service and Parts Director- Tom Wood Group

Tom Wood Group in Indianapolis, IN is seeking an experienced and results-driven Automotive Service and Parts Director to oversee the daily operations of the service and parts departments at one of our local dealerships. This key leadership role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of dealership operations, customer service excellence, and a proven track record of maximizing departmental efficiency and profitability.  The ideal candidate will also be an inspirational leader who can motivate and guide teams toward achieving their goals while also fostering a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and accountability. 

Responsibilities: 

Oversee and coordinate the service and parts departments to ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and profitability.Establish and achieve financial goals, including revenue, gross profit, and expense control.Develop and implement strategies to increase productivity, improve service quality, and enhance customer satisfaction.Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to ensure compliance and competitive advantage.Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork and high performance.Train, mentor, and lead service and parts staff, including managers and technicians.Conduct regular performance reviews and set clear objectives for team members.Ensure an exceptional customer experience by maintaining high standards for service quality and responsiveness, as well as resolving customer concerns promptly and professionally.Build and maintain long-term customer relationships to enhance retention and loyalty.Oversee inventory levels for parts and supplies to meet customer needs while minimizing overstock.Negotiate with vendors to secure favorable pricing and terms.Monitor and manage warranty claims and returns.Ensure adherence to all company policies, manufacturer guidelines, and legal regulations.Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment for staff and customers.Other duties as needed. 

Qualifications:  

Proven experience as a Service and/or Parts Manager or Director within an automotive dealership.In-depth knowledge of dealership operations, service and parts processes, and industry standards.Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and manage a diverse team.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Proficiency in dealership management software (DMS) and related systems.A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.Preferred- Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.Required- Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
