Primary Function:

ChristianaCare is looking for a full-time Service Assistant III to deliver supplies and patient care equipment, from Material Management’s storeroom to patient care areas upon request, in a manner that supports outstanding excellence and quality patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities:Accurately and efficiently maintains stocks supplies in Bulk Stores for receipts from vendors and issues to customers. Accurately and efficiently delivers supplies and equipment to customers in a timely and courteous manner. Makes supply rounds on the units daily. Fills orders for case carts and delivers to Operating Room.Restocks crash carts after use. Process all in house printing, copying, and assembling of manuals when necessary. Maintains adequate department supply levels to meet the need of the customers.Process outgoing & incoming mail. Ensures all patient charge items have patient charge stickers.Restocks warehouse with supplies accurately in appropriate locations.Handles supplies and equipment to ensure sterility and infection control when applicable, i.e. (sterile strays, supplies with expiration dates, and replenishment of isolation supply carts.)Takes initiative to assist patient care staff with identification of supply needs and available alternative when requested.Maintains a neat and orderly storeroom.Demonstrates compliance with Christiana Care and departmental policies and procedures including but not limited to safety, infection control, attendance and dress code Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.Performs other related duties as the need arises.Hours: Day Shift 7:30am - 4pm (working every 4th or 5th weekend 6am - 2:30p)Education and Experience Requirements:High School DiplomaOne year of hospital experience or commiserate experience in material handling, must have involved in working with patient care supplies.Working Conditions:Noise, dust and dirt environment. Possible precaution needed to prevent electric shock from tram and corrosive battery acids. Other hazardous gases and chemicals.Physical Demands:

Frequent walking. Frequent lifting and placing of stock on shelves or in their designated locations within the warehouse. Frequent lifting of filled supply orders and delivery to requisitioned areas. Frequent pushing of carts from storeroom to patient care areas. Must be able to push supply carts on wheels, weighing up to 500 lbs. into nursing units
