Sheppard Prat is seeking a service chief for our Intellectual Disabilities and Autism Unit that is located on our historic Towson campus. This unit is a safe and welcoming seven-bed inpatient unit that is designed for the treatment of adults with severe autism spectrum disorder or a severe intellectual disability. This highly specialized unit is designed for crisis stabilization and its goal is to move individuals to a less-intensive level of care as soon as it is safe to do so. Patients generally come to this unit for care after engaging in exceptionally aggressive behavior, or other challenging behavior that cannot be controlled in a community setting.
The Service Chief will lead a multidisciplinary team in the delivery of safe, highly specialized care. The position has both administrative and clinical responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a great passion to serve this population and have experience working with patients in a high acuity inpatient setting.
Requirements:
Expertise working with adults who have autism spectrum disorder and/or intellectual disabilities. Experience leading an inpatient unit is highly desired. Board certification is required. Must possess a current license to practice in Maryland at the time of appointment.About Sheppard Pratt
