Job Description
This position is responsible for technical repair, support, and training of Teledyne Labs instruments.
REPAIR DUTIES
Troubleshoot repair, perform installations and preventative maintenance
• Inhouse and field repairs required
• Inhouse and field installations required
• Excellent technical and troubleshooting skills
• Interpret and work from complex electromechanical blueprints, schematics, drawings and work instructions.
• Perform set-up and analytical tests on all Teledyne ISCO and Teledyne Hanson units
• Interpret and record analytical data from testing
• Proven troubleshooting skills on ISCO and Hanson units
• Proven abilities in performing high complex electro/mechanical and mechanical assemblies, final & Quality Control, testing. This requires the knowledge of ISCO and Hanson units
• Installation of instrumentation in various laboratory environments, including, but not limited to: controlled laboratories, confined spaces, other manufacturing facilities
• Coordinate with on-site contractors and facility managers to ensure proper system installation
• Uses and maintains manufacturing and test equipment.
TECH SUPPORT DUTIES
Answer basic application and detailed service-related questions for Teledyne Labs systems including Chromatography, syringe pump, Dissolution, Diffusion and third party equipment remotely.
• Enter orders received via email, fax, phone in from customer, OEM distributors
• Provide customers with written quotation on parts/service
• Ability to work with and manage parts via the software that manages Teledyne’s financials and supply chain.
• Initiate and/or process return authorization for incorrect or defective material ordered, shipped or received.
Direct support
• Provide exceptional customer service
• Schedule and complete installation, troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance at customer site
• Excellent Remote technical and troubleshooting skills
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding delivery literature requests, etc. ensuring customer satisfaction
• Patiently explain complex technical systems to individuals and groups in person and remotely.
Documentation
• Creates and edits user manuals, checklists, troubleshooting guides, etc.
• Ability to effectively interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, videos, and documents for new system startup, certifications, and systems maintenance.
Quality Metrics
• Responsible for achieving technical supports quality and productivity measurements
• Participate actively in the quality process including [project team involvement, problem solving, corrective and preventative actions and recommending solutions to enhance and improve the quality of departmental and/or company-wide business activities.
TRAVEL
• An average of 25% overnight travel expected
• Domestic and International with an emphasis on domestic travel
• Travel on short notice required
GENERAL
• Must be self-motivated, display an enthusiastic attitude and initiative and a willingness to be flexible.
• Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team
• Strong knowledge of complete assembly processes required
• Lift 35-55lbs as needed.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Capable of following safety procedures in the use and handling of flammable and hazardous chemicals required to meet all cleanliness specifications.
Education and/or Experience:
• Associates Degree or three to five years related laboratory or equivalent combination of education and experience.
