Description

TheService Line Coordinatorreflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The Service Line Coordinatoris responsible for day-to-day operations and coordination of all service line procedures, including the supervision and/or coordination of all staff assigned to the service line procedures and the coordination/communication of information relevant to the intra-operative patient care process.  The Service Line Coordinatorcollaborates with leadership to manage the service line surgery schedule, maintain and update protocols related to specialty surgery, coordinate equipment maintenance, efficiency and utilization, quality improvement, and provide feedback regarding patient care, budgetary, and strategic planning opportunities for improvement. 

Responsibilities:

Core Skills

Supervise daily activities for all surgical service line cases to assure quality patient care.Coordinate staffing with OR Schedulers, Charge Nurses, and Anesthesia Lead to meet the needs of all service line designated specialties.Anticipate and estimate future needs of the specialty services, and make arrangements for the needs to be met, i.e., equipment, supplies.Collaborate and coordinate with other members of the surgical team including physicians to deliver quality health care.Responsible for facilitating, coordinating, and directing all service line operations. Collaborate closely with Central Sterile Supply to ensure efficient, reliable and timely delivery of instrumentation and supplies.Oversee all equipment, supply and inventory needs related to service line specific surgery.Collaborate with Supply Chain to meet changing inventory needs of the department.Collaborate with perioperative services leadership to track efficiencies, quality, and process improvement.Collaborate with leadership and support the needs of the OR Committee.Develop and maintains positive work relations with all internal and external customers.

Qualifications

Required:

Clinical competency in OR Specialty surgeries (minimum 2 years)Either:Surgical Technician Certification (CERT CST)OR experience working in specialty programsRNFA / PA / SFA with Illinois state license & certificationWith equivalent experience managing specialty programs.

Preferred:

Two years of management/Coordinator experience
