Service Manager

Cleaver Brooks Sales and Service is looking for a Service Manager to join our team in Houston, TX.The Service Manager will coordinate the daily direction of a service department made up of a group of specialty mechanics, technicians, and welders. Coordinate company technical resources to ensure appropriate solutions are offered. This is a direct customer facing position. Must be able to multi-task and respond to customer’s emergencies with technical resolutions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Job Location: Houston, TX

Essential functions:

Develop processes that improve efficiencies in the service department   Reviews JSA’s, safety audits, and responsible for the safety of personnel in the shop and on the job site  Continual development and evaluation of employees  Reviews service tickets daily for accuracy of technical completions, procedures, time entry, and materials  Manages job flow including manpower, scheduling, material availability, and dispatching  Responsible for monitoring costs and job status reporting to Operations Manager and/or Sales team  Works with other Service Managers across TX when resources are needed to staff jobs  Schedules training for employees on an as needed basis  Ensures employees are maintaining and servicing fleet vehicles according to protocol  Ability to handle responsibilities with effective interpersonal skills and effectively interface with others inside and outside the Company is required. Work directly with representatives and staff to resolve internal and external problems  Position requires the constant and consistent exercise of intellect, judgment, and ability to commensurate with supervisor positions in similar industries or situations  Support peers and management with internal and external projects  Manages employee discipline and adheres to company policies  All other duties as assigned by the Ops Manager

Basic Requirements:

Education:

A High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory. BS/BA and/or business school preferred.

Experience: 

Two (2) years’ experience in a similar industrial/technical service management position is preferred. Computer competency including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams are required. ERP system experience a plus. Basic understanding of HVAC industry terminology a plus. Boiler service management and technical experience a plus.

Physical Skill & Effort: 

Work requires computer proficiency Willingness / ability to work after hours, weekends, and emergency hours as needed Willingness / ability to travel domestically as needed Must have the ability to work independently with little direct supervision Work involves light and simple types of physical exertion

Working Conditions and Hazards:  

Normal office conditions. Customer visits may include exposure to site specific hazards and safety requirements.  Work environment may include dusty and hot conditions.
