Service Manager - Packaging / Industrial Machinery - Food Industry
Minimum requirements for the role:
 An engineering or related qualification is preferred but not essential for the role. Previous experience having worked as Service Manager managing a team of qualified Technicians is essential for the role. Previous experience having worked within the food manufacturing or meat processing industry overseeing equipment service and maintenance etc if preferred. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and or related equipment is preferred but not essential. Familiarity with meat processing equipment and industry-specific standards is preferred. Experience in managing service teams, including performance management and training is essential for the role. Proficiency in inventory management and spare parts procurement is preferred. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities effectively. Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory requirements working within an industrial equipment maintenance market is preferred.   The successful candidate will be responsible for:
 Managing and overseeing their service department managing all service, maintenance, and repair of large-scale meat processing and packaging equipment managing the inventory of equipment spares, troubleshooting technical issues, and leading a team of millwrights to ensure efficient and effective service delivery to all their customers. Leading, supervising, and developing a team of millwrights and service technicians. Scheduling and assigning tasks, ensuring optimal resource allocation and productivity. Overseeing the service, maintenance and repairing large-scale meat processing equipment. Visiting customers on site to trouble shoot on the equipment that the company has supplied them ensuring that the equipment the company has supplied them (meat processing and packaging equipment etc) is operating well.  Implementing preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime. Managing the inventory of spare parts and equipment, ensuring availability and minimizing downtime. Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers to procure necessary parts and equipment. Implementing and monitoring inventory control procedures to optimize stock levels and reduce costs. Managing and overseeing that all customers are assisted with regards to their service-related inquiries and issues. Coordinating with other departments to schedule maintenance and repair work with minimal disruption to operations. Ensuring compliance with safety standards and industry regulations. Maintaining accurate records of service activities, repairs, and inventory usage. Preparing and presenting regular reports on service performance, equipment status, and inventory levels. Analysing service data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and potential cost savings. Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing effective solutions. Fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and teamwork within the service department. Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
