Position Objective
The Service Sales Representative is responsible for business development of our Service Department Business including our preventive maintenance service contract products. You will sell to new and existing clients and schedule sales appointments via self-generated leads. In your role, you will work in a business-to-business setting in which you will cover an assigned territory and build a portfolio of accounts via prospecting and referrals. Due to the nature of the services we offer, you will very rarely make one-call closes.
Job Functions
Visits customers’ or potential customers’ facilities to help determine overall roof service needs on a long-term basis and assists to design programs to meet those needsConducts roof top inspections of existing systems and secures opportunities to quote on customer requirements. Prepares full estimate including pictures, drawings and other description Prepares professional quote for roof services and presents full scope of quotation to customersMaintain current information about customers, facilities, operations and personnel on customer contact management systemAssists in the collection of outstanding receivables and identifies potential problems that may delay the payment of open invoicesProvides sales and lost business reports Follow up on direct mail campaignsPresent clients with the most appropriate solutionsAssemble proposals and reports for clientsSubmit all contacts and documentation in a timely mannerFollow up with clients on a periodic basis to ensure that their expectations are being met and to get referralsWork with Service Coordinator to understand where/how to generate additional leads and referralsCoordinate with the Service Department Manager to develop sales strategies and, when necessary, to close dealsManage the service projects won through your effortsPerform other related tasks as may be assignedProspect via cold calls, emails, door-to-door calls, networking and referrals
Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential)
Demonstrated success in sales, a strong record of achievement and a proven ability to achieve resultsAbility to apply negotiation skills to a variety of sales situations. 3 – 5 years sales experience in roofing, construction or a related fieldAbility to manage/qualify leads and close business through direct contact or over the phoneExcellent track record in developing relationships with a high degree of integrity and trustSolid project management skillsSolid verbal, written, interpersonal and listening skillsHigh school diploma or equivalentProficiency in Microsoft applications including SharePoint and CRMAbility to climb ladders and walk/inspect roofValid driver’s license, clean driving record, reliable vehicleAbility to travel locally; out of the office 80% of the time
Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Desirable)
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications, Construction, Management or equivalent combination of education, experience and training Proven track record of client retentionStrong commercial roofing experienceProfessional sales training methodology, such as SandlerKnowledge of business and management principles

Working Conditions
Physical surroundings: Office environment with typical office machines and exposure to noise and temperature as well as exposure to typical hazards of jobsite, including ladders, construction materials, etc.
Physical Effort: Extensive sitting. Repetitive keying, typing, climbing ladders. MUST be able to climb up to and walk roof systems to evaluate needs.
Domestic Travel: Local and possibility of travel to corporate office for training (Rosemont, IL).
Extensive Hours: Not subject to overtime.
