Service Sustaining Engineer

Job Summary:

The Service Sustainment Engineer is responsible for the technical evaluation, including the verification/validation of product changes that impact serviceability of the Breast and Skeletal Health as well as Surgical installation base. The position requires frequent interfacing with R&D, Manufacturing Engineers, RAQA, Learning and Development, to learn, understand, troubleshoot, and become SME for existing install base. The Service Sustainment Engineer will be responsible for leading and implementing design and process changes to improve service capabilities. They will work closely with Downstream Marketing, R&D, Learning and Development, Quality, and Operations to improve the performance, implementation, and serviceability of our existing products. They will conduct in-depth analysis of FTF, FPY, Non-repeat, and USV data to develop strategies for initiating sustainment activities. This position may also require supporting serviceability for new product development.

What To Expect:

The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the below mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs.   

Drives sustainment activities through engineering change orders, verification, and validation to support service organizations and customers.  Leads design changes to improve performance, reliability, and reduce costs.  Releases new parts, updates drawings, and revises bills of materials.  Creates Field Modification kits and technical documentation for installation and maintenance.  Identifies and validates substitutes for obsolete components, approves engineering changes, and implements consistent service processes.  Assesses field problems for process/product improvements, conducts reliability ROI, and supports new service systems.  Analyzes trends for continuous improvement, drives design for serviceability and sustainability, and develops repair tools.  Collaborates with Operations, Quality, and R&D to enhance product reliability.  Represents Service in sustainment projects, owns CAPAs, and supports installation readiness.  Participates in end-of-life processes and communicates improvements to field engineers.  Adds content to knowledge bases and partners with Tech Training for necessary training.  Supports demo and trade show equipment as needed."

What We Expect:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent required      Minimum of 5 years experience as a Quality, R&D, Manufacturing engineer, or equivalent technical experience. A minimum of 5 years related job experience is required in a customer, technical, or field support role with at least 2 years spent in a product support capacity.

Skills: 

Must possess the ability to work independently to resolve reported or discovered product issues. The ability to communicate effectively and convey complex theories and procedures to all levels in the organization. Capable of performing installations and repairs for BSH devices Critical thinker with analytical and problem-solving skills. Capable of developing and delivering process and design changes. Must be familiar with Windows and Microsoft Office. Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment  Ability to influence key stakeholders to drive improvements

The annualized base salary range for this role is $100,000 to $140,000 and is bonus eligible.  Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
