**Job Title: Generator Service Technician** **Job Description** The Generator Service Technician will specialize in working on generators and will be responsible for delivering, picking up, setting up, tearing down, and performing maintenance and repair on all rental equipment. Initial duties will be local, with eventual travel across the US to service generators after training. **Responsibilities** + Prepare, inspect, and operate machines prior to delivery. + Load and unload delivery vehicles with scheduled equipment. + Deliver and pick up equipment, set up/tear down equipment on job sites, and obtain signatures and proof of receipt when necessary. + Explain proper use and care of products to customers. + Assist customers with loading equipment and restock returned products. + Inspect returned products to ensure they are clean, in good repair, and refilled or maintained according to rental agreements. + Complete paperwork accurately and maintain records of hours worked, accounts serviced, and administrative time. + Determine necessary parts, materials, and supplies for repairs, maintenance, or modifications; order needed items. + Remove, disassemble, assemble, and install components and parts. + Perform preventative maintenance tasks, service, and maintain equipment sold or owned. **Essential Skills** + Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools. + Experience with electrical wiring and/or hydraulics + Experience in generator and diesel repair, including 3-phase systems is A PLUS + Ability to read repair manuals and schematic diagrams + Ability to operate materials handling equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, skid steerers, and forklifts safely. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Demonstrated self-motivation and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. + Comfortable working outside year-round and moving between buildings to pick orders. **Why Work Here?** Join a family-owned company with significant growth potential and a positive, hard-working culture. The company operates on a large property with three buildings dedicated to offices, a warehouse, and a shop for generator maintenance. You will work alongside approximately 15 colleagues in the rental business, including 7 technicians, and may train with experienced techs. The dress code requires steel-toe boots, long pants, and a work shirt. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Johnsburg, Illinois **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
