Service Technician
**Job Title: Service Technician** **Job Description** Our client has an immediate opening in the service department for a Field Service Helper/Assistant. This role involves assisting a Field Service Technician with preventative and corrective maintenance of industrial compressors. General responsibilities include running parts/tools, lifting pumps, and performing basic mechanical work. Additional tasks include parts pick-ups, customer deliveries, and in-shop preventive maintenance on compressors. **Responsibilities** + Assist Field Service Technician with maintenance tasks + Run parts and tools to needed locations + Lift and transport pumps and other equipment + Perform basic mechanical work + Pick up parts and deliver them to customers + Conduct preventive maintenance on compressors in the shop **Essential Skills** + Mechanically inclined + Clean DMV record + Client-facing demeanor + High School diploma or equivalent + Excellent communication and problem-solving skills + Good customer service skills + Valid driver's license and clean record + Ability to lift up to 75 lbs frequently **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Ability to read blueprints/schematics + Industrial equipment maintenance experience + Electrical troubleshooting experience + Experience with vacuums or industrial pumps + HVAC experience **Why Work Here?** This is a great opportunity for someone looking to enter the trade field who is mechanically inclined and good with tools, but may not have a lot of experience. You will have the chance to learn on the job by shadowing and assisting a technician, with the goal of transitioning to a full-time outside Field Service Technician within approximately six months. **Work Environment** The Service Technician role is primarily in-state, with 90% of work located in Portland and the Portland Metro area. The work environment includes commercial and industrial settings. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of PORTLAND, Oregon. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
