Service Technician I
\n
Primary Purpose:
The Service Technician I is responsible for loading and \/ or unloading drums and containers from trucks and processing and \/ or storing hazardous waste materials.
\n
Essential Functions & Requirements: \n\nEnsures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times\nLoads and \/ or unloads drums and containers from trucks; processes and \/ or stores hazardous waste materials\nWeighs and breaks down large containers into smaller containers\nCompletes inspection and mechanical placement of drums on conveyor and completes the manual placement of buckets from pallet to carriage\nDrives forklift to retrieve drums and containers from storage and operates computer and conveyor\nTransports \/ positions trailers and tankers for collection of slag and ash\nPumps out containers of liquid\nTransfers material from tank to tank using a centrifugal pump\nMaintains a clean work area \nCompletes other duties as assigned

Education:\n\nHigh-school diploma or equivalent (required)
\n\n
Experience: \n\nPrevious experience operating a fork truck (preferred)\nHAZWOPER certificate or previous fire-fighting experience (preferred) \n\n
\n
Competencies: \n\nAbility to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner\nAbility to pass a pre-employment physical, background check and drug screen\nAbility to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including a respirator \nAbility to lift and carry up to 50lbs \nAbility to work all shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed \nAbility to participate in Emergency Response and Fire Brigade \nRegular and predictable attendance to perform the functions and requirements of this role \n\n
