Job Title: Field Service Power Generation Service Writer (On-Site)
Location: New Hudson, MI
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (with occasional overtime)
Compensation: $26 - $28 per hour (based on experience)
Job Summary
We are seeking a Field Service Power Generation Service Writer to serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring exceptional service and driving business growth at our branch location. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in customer service or generator repair sales who are ready to advance their careers.
Key Responsibilities Act as the primary liaison with customers, fostering strong relationships and delivering high-quality service. Assess customer needs, gather relevant information, and create detailed work orders. Provide accurate quotes, develop repair plans, and communicate status updates on service jobs. Prepare comprehensive work orders, including diagnostic plans and repair estimates, collaborating with the Service Supervisor/Team Lead. Schedule technician assignments in partnership with the Service Supervisor/Team Lead. Address customer concerns related to warranties and repair costs, clearly explaining charges and processes. Monitor workshop performance metrics, such as labor productivity and customer satisfaction, ensuring continuous improvement.
Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience: Minimum of 2 years in customer service or generator repair sales; dealership or similar industry experience preferred. Skills: Strong proficiency in scheduling and coordinating technician appointments. Familiarity with dealership or equivalent service environments. Solid computer skills, including experience with service management software. Valid driver’s license required, as the role may involve moving trucks and RVs within the facility.
Preferred Candidate Attributes Exceptional customer service and communication skills for working with customers and vendors via phone, email, and in person. Proven ability to write detailed service complaints, prepare warranties, draft quotes, and sell repair jobs. Highly organized with a proactive approach to managing customer interactions and service schedules.
