REPORTS TO:                     Manager of Maintenance 

 

EMPLOYEE:                        Part-Time; Hourly


Pay:                                     $18.00-$20.00


POSITION SUMMARY 


The Service Writer role is a key member of the organization’s maintenance strategy.  Our Motorcoach/Commercial Service business is continually growing, and the need for a strong experienced highly organized Service Writer is key. The successful individual is knowledgeable in all mechanical areas and work closely with our Mechanic team.  Must be able to maintain an inventory that keeps our business on the road. The individual will be able to keep the parts room organized and clean. Accurate clerical skills are a must. The Service Writer works closely with other departments with a common goal of keeping the fleet in top condition.   

 

KEY RESULT AREAS


Stock and Maintain Parts Department. Maintain parts inventory, adjusts stocking levels as neededOrder parts as needed for repairs.Look up and distribute parts to technicians as needed and document on RO.Responsible for housekeeping in parts area and keeping it up to OSHA Standards.

 

Maintain Documentation process in Parts Department. Fill out Purchase and Work Orders.Work with current software in current parts department.Send in and maintain Oil Sample Records.  Monitor daily write ups; and schedule repairs between our facilities.Process warranty claims and returns and update returns spreadsheet daily.Facilitate yearly inventory count.

 

Work closely with Operations.Effectively communicate with the Manager of Maintenance on the urgency of parts needed for in progress jobs.Assist accounting department by processing invoices.Provide parts for all of our locations. 

 

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Computer/Technology skills: Experience preferred using the Internet for part research and manufacturer information; any additional skills are helpful.Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify areas of concern and offer solutions.Ability to work in fast paced and deadline sensitive environment; flexibility.Positive attitude and team player.Communicate effectively with management staff and vendors.Quality internal and external customer service skills.   Experience in areas of preventive maintenance and repair of motor coaches is preferred but will train the right candidate.Valid driver's license (good driving record)
