Job Description:At Regions, the Configuration Management Analyst will be responsible for implementing, supporting, and maintaining configuration records within the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) environment. This position will create, review, and analyze release and change data. This role will work closely with the Configuration Function Manager to coordinate interaction between engineering, testing, development, asset and change management teams to ensure appropriate changes are efficiently implemented.
Primary Responsibilities
Ensures the integrity and accuracy of Configuration Information (CI) records are within Configuration Management Database (CMDB)Populates database field to capture accurate dataCoordinates, facilitates, and assists with Configuration AuditsSupports coordination, tracking, planning, scheduling, and building components utilizing configuration management toolsMonitors and enforces desired configurations to promote operation efficiencyPreforms reviews, develops processes and documentations to ensure integrity of Configuration Records within the CMDB environment promoting healthy CMSolves complex problems, by taking a new perspective on existing solutionsMay serve as a resource to associates with less experienceThis position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in in Configuration Management, IT Service Management, Change Management disciplines or in a related field and three (3) years of relevant experience in Change/Release Management, CI/CD, automation, and DevOpsOr High School Diploma/GED and seven (7) years of relevant experiencePreferences
Certifications within the Configuration Management, IT Service Management, Change Management disciplines, or related fieldExperience with IT Service Management tools, Visual Basic, PowerBI, and Structured Query Language (SQL)Skills and Competencies
Ability to handle multi-stream requests, prioritize commitments, and manage time effectivelyAbility to learn additional systems as neededAbility to utilize automation to enhance workflow and processesAbility to work autonomously, with moderate guidanceExperience with writing requirement documents and documenting processesProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)Strong attention to detailStrong verbal, written communication, and organizational skillsWorking knowledge of configuration management principlesThis role will work closely with the Configuration Manager to define process and tool improvements in the Configuration Management space.
The Configuration Analyst will coordinate interaction between engineering, testing, development, asset management, and change management teams to ensure the managed configuration Items are properly tracked, controlled and reliable information is available timely.
The focus is on Configuration Management so the key experience needed for the role are:
Designing, deploying, and governing IT Configuration Management Process.Assisting the Configuration Manager with designing technical solutions in ServiceNow Configuration Management Data Base.Configuring CMDB Health Preferences and CMDB Class Manager.Maintaining the configuration management product backlog and refinement of stories.Transitioning intake requests to Configuration Management requirements.This position may be filled at a higher level depending on the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience
This position must be within a reasonable driving distance to a Branch, Consumer Operations, or Professional Office Building with the primary location being for Birmingham, AL, Nashville, TN, Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense. Exceptions to the geographic location requirement may be made for current Regions associates who work remotely.
