***The preferred location for this role is New Orleans, LA.  Other areas that may be considered include Little Rock, AR, The Woodlands, TX, and Jackson, MS***

**This is a hybrid position requiring in office collaborative work, two days a week. Relocation my be required for those outside the above areas. Relocation assistance is not available for this position**

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

As a ServiceNow Developer within Entergy’s Operational Governance team, you will provide IT services to internal customers as well as deliver ongoing support for ServiceNow-based software solutions. This role provides the opportunity to engage in the full application lifecycle as part of a scrum team. You will design, develop, and support solutions on the Now platform that supports Entergy’s core IT processes. As the Sr Developer on the team, you will be expected to act as a mentor for the other developers on the team and be the steward of coding standards and sound application design.

 

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop application features with configuration and custom code development. Assist in the coordination of any changes, upgrades and testing with support providers for external integrations and systems. Lead peer reviews for application changes. Participate in scrum ceremonies such as refinement, demo, and release planning. Create workflows and build service requests based on customers’ specifications. Use scripting tools and ServiceNow functionalities to automate rote tasks. Perform system and integration testing; and monitor health, usage, and overall compliance within the application. Generate reports and communicate project progress as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education and experience required of the position:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, business administration, or other technical area of study OR equivalent work experience; advanced degree is a plus.

 

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:

Superb analytic and problem-solving skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven experience working with Agile development teams. Experience with JavaScript is required. Expertise with software development and design methodologies Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. 5+ Years working as a software developer for an enterprise platform. Prior ServiceNow development experience

 

Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Understanding of design thinking techniques including Persona's, Journey Maps, and Business Model Canvas Domain expertise in at least one ServiceNow module such as ITSM, ITOM, or HRSD.

 

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required of the position:

Any ServiceNow, Scrum, or ITIL certifications are a plus.
