ServiceNow Developer

The University of Virginia Information Technology Services department is seeking a skilled ServiceNow Developer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience in JavaScript and a strong background in administering and developing on the ServiceNow platform. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of our IT service management processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Developing, configuring, and customizing the ServiceNow platform to fit business requirements.Create and manage workflows, UI Policies, UI Actions, Client Scripts, and ACLs.Integrate third party solutions with ServiceNow platform.Design scalable and concise coding solutions.Test, verify, and promote all ServiceNow enhancements following SDLC best practices.Join the on-call rotation, approximately one week per month. Troubleshoot issues and document solutions.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize business requirements.Participate in agile development processes, providing input and feedback to improve overall team performance.Maintain an understanding of ServiceNow platform hierarchies and design principles.Participate in training and educational opportunities to enhance platform knowledge and skills.

Position Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in JavaScript development.ServiceNow Experience: Practical experience administering and developing on the ServiceNow platform.ServiceNow Certification: Certified ServiceNow Administrator (CSA) minimum.Technical Skills: Proficiency in designing and developing ServiceNow applications, workflows, scripts, and user interfaces.Partnership: Work closely with internal and cross departmental partners to synthesize business requirements into sustainable solutions.Troubleshooting: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and repair complex issues.Organizational Skill: Ability to work both on a team and independently while managing multiple workstreams in a fast-paced complex environment.Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

CSS, HTML, Angular JS.Certified ServiceNow App Developer (CAD).ITIL foundations.Agile development experience.

Additional Information:

This position qualifies for Full Remote. Occasional paid travel to Virginia one or two times annually.The salary for this position is $100,000 - $110,000 annually commensurate with education and experience.This is a full-time W2 position.To meet the clearance requirements for this opportunity, candidates must be authorized to work in the US.This position will not sponsor visas.All candidates will be subject to a complete background check to include, but not limited to Criminal History, Education Verification, Professional Certification Verification, Verification of Previous Employment.
