Successful candidates must possess the ability to build solutions by understanding the customer context, including all stakeholders, process and needs, as well as technical complexity induced by the integration of numerous interconnected software components. Candidates must have an in depth knowledge of AVEVA's Enterprise SCADA product. The successful candidate will be a part of, and manage, a Solutions Architecture Team assisting the O&G Midstream business in defining, evolving, documenting and communicating Reference Solution Architectures for the O&G Midstream business. The candidate will work directly with customers to promote the adoption of the reference architectures, will listen to the customers to understand gaps in the proposed reference architectures, will work together with Product Management, Product Development, Project Delivery and Customer Support teams to ensure the needs of the customers are met. . **Key responsibilities** + Ability to build solutions by understanding the customer context, including all stakeholders, process and needs, as well as technical complexity induced by the integration of numerous interconnected software components. + Define, evolve, document and communicate Reference Solution Architectures to others. + Define, maintain and promote Reference Solution Architectures which integrate system hardware, AVEVA and 3rd party software products, virtualization technologies, networking, security, and related field equipment to address market needs. + Work directly with customer to promote the adoption of the reference architectures. + Listen to customers to understand gaps in the proposed reference architectures. + Work together with various internal team to make sure that the needs of the customers are met. + Identify future market needs, competitive gaps and legacy system gaps working closely with internal teams to create solution roadmaps that maximize market differentiation within allocated budget constraints. + Ensure Reference Solution Architectures are to be scalable, repeatable and aligned with product capabilities and market expectations. + Emphasis solutions can be deployed rapidly and consistently. + Represent AVEVA in selected industry conferences and technical committees through attendance, presentations and preparation of white-papers. + Promote the unique customer value propositions of AVEVA’s O&G Midstream to influence customers and consultants. + Share experience with other members of the multi-departmental Solutions Architecture Team. + Gather customer experience to continually validate and improve architected solution. + Connect with Industry Regulatory organizations and Consultants to stay abreast of industry trends and regulations. + Adapt Reference Solution Architectures to meet specific customer needs while preserving supportability, maintainability, and upgradability objectives during the Sales Phase of a project. + Responsible to prepare Solution Architecture Diagram, Bill of Materials, and contributions to Specification Table of Compliance in preparation of a Proposal. + Perform a gap analysis between customer needs and Reference Solution Architectures, documenting the gaps in a Rationalization Spreadsheet in Gap Analysis. + Assists in identifying gaps between customer needs and Reference Solution Architectures. + Assist with the preparation of a Statement of Work. + Contribute to solution selling, in close cooperation with the Account Managers and Proposals Team. + Responsible for the production of a Solution Definition Document (SDD) which includes the Solution Architecture diagram and a number of more detailed corresponding components. + Extends the proposed Solution Architecture diagram with responsibility for the completion of the full SDD during Proposal Design Phase. + Support Project Delivery and Customer Service teams when solution architecture changes are requested by the customer, project delivery or customer service teams. + Act as a 2nd set of eyes to review proposed solutions. **Essential requirements** + In depth knowledge of AVEVA's Enterprise SCADA product. + Knowledge of security best practices in an operational technology environment + Be able to manage a small team of SMEs. + Be able to collaborate with other functions to achieve the best possible outcome **Desired skills** + Deep understanding of industry requirements for Oil & Gas (O&G) Midstream solutions. + Broad understanding of O&G Midstream solutions including core SCADA and O&G application suites or embedded technologies. + Understanding of O&G pipeline industry best practices, security concerns and regulatory requirements influencing reference architectures in the RealTime control and monitoring space. + Detailed knowledge of AVEVA Enterprise SCADA components, interaction between components and networks. + Degree in engineering / computer sciences discipline or equivalent relevant industry experience. + 8+ years related work experience. + Expert in pipeline operations and commercial software technologies and architectures. + System architecture methodology, starting from customer needs identification. + Customer focus and result oriented. + Ability to positive influence and convince. + Ability to foster cooperation. + Ability to energize others in a team environment. + MBA degree is an asset. + Excellent written and oral communication skills in English (with Internal and External customers). + A computer software Diploma with a minimum of 12-year plus related post-secondary SCADA experiences, or + A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science with a minimum of 10-year plus related post-secondary experiences.
