**Job Title: CNC Machinist** Location: Gardenia, CA outside LA area Contract length: 3-6+ months 2nd shift- 60 hours per week $42/hr and $235/day per diem for lodging and meals Clean environment and great staff **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist with expertise in gear profile grinding machines. The ideal candidate will be proficient in operating CNC gear profile grinding machines and have a strong background in gear grinding applications. **Responsibilities** + Perform gear grinding and profile grinding based on customer needs. + Measure critical dimensions, surface finish, and read gear charts using gearing terminology. + Call the program, dress the wheel, touch off gear faces, and pilot grind. + Make necessary corrections and basic edits to programs and calculations. + Indicate parts, make adjustments, and offset follows during setup. + Perform 2-3 different setups daily with job shop lot sizes between 4-16 parts. + Grind internal and external gears ranging from 2 inches to 56 inches. + Operate cranes for larger parts and work with spur gear, dual helical gear, and helical gears. **Essential Skills** + Proficiency in CNC gear profile grinding machines. + Experience with AGMA15, Kapp Niles, and Gleason Phoenix 280G. + Familiarity with Reishauer RZ 260 and Liebherr LGG. + Knowledge of gear profile and surface grinding. + Ability to use pitch diameter to set up gears. + Experience with Kapp Niles, Siemens, and Hoffman controls. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Skilled in using hand tools, gauges, and dial indicators. + Experience with gear tooth calipers, tooth thickness micrometers, and precision tape (pi tape). + Ability to use gear analyzers, run out, true center, fixturing, expanding arbor, and collets. + Familiarity with diddle (internal machine monitor) for addressing profiles correctly. **Why Work Here?** Our company offers a dynamic and supportive work environment where employees can thrive and grow. The facility is equipped with advanced CNC gear profile grinding machines, and employees work with parts ranging from 2 inches to 56 inches in size. Crane operation is required for larger parts. The shop operates on a FIFO basis, with production planners guiding the order of operations.
