**Job Posting: Machine Setup Operator** **Location:** Salem, VA **Hourly Rate:** $ 24.50 **Position Overview:** We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Machine Setup Operator to join our team in Salem, VA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining, the ability to set up and operate conventional and numerical control machines, and a keen attention to detail to ensure the production of high-quality parts. This role requires an individual who can follow detailed instructions and process sheets, while actively contributing to continuous process improvements. **Key Responsibilities:** + Set up and operate conventional and numerical control machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts. + Apply knowledge of machine shop theory, procedures, and shop mathematics to meet production and scheduling needs. + Follow engineering part drawings and process plans to select and install tooling, offsets, and fixtures. + Perform first piece approval and ensure that machined items meet quality specifications using precision measuring instruments. + Report malfunctions of machinery and process deviations to appropriate personnel. + Maintain accurate production counts and meet quality and productivity standards. + Identify opportunities to improve the manufacturing process, including new fixtures, tooling, and combining operations. + Monitor cycle times and keep the work area clean and organized. + Adhere to all company safety procedures and guidelines. + Perform machine loading, offsetting, and zeroing as necessary, depending on the machine used. **Qualifications:** + High school diploma or GED required. + At least 5 years of machining experience. + General knowledge of machining techniques and methods. + Ability to set up and operate machines effectively and execute instructions. + Experience interpreting engineering drawings and using precision measuring instruments. + Must demonstrate safety precautions when operating equipment. **Additional Information:** + Some overtime is required, especially on Fridays when OT is often scheduled. + Strong focus on quality and process improvement. **Pay Details:** $24.50 to $25.50 per hour Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
