**Summary**
The Settlement Analyst will perform the monthly checkout process and settle counterparties invoices related to physical gas purchases/sales, transportation, taxes, imbalance, and storage.
**What You'll Do**
This role will also be responsible for the following:
• Perform monthly in-depth reviews of the physical gas transactions to ensure SRP has appropriately accounted for its burn, sales, imbalance, and storage through various detailed reconciliations.
• Create and perform complex and detailed reconciliations to ensure accuracy of both physical and financial gas activity. Perform correcting Journal Entries as necessary to ensure financial statement accuracy.
• Regularly review accounting methodologies and practices for SRP's gas storage, cost of sales, imbalance, taxes, and expensing of burned gas. Routinely attend utility and accounting conferences to monitor latest accounting guidance to ensure SRP is compliance with accounting standards.
• Maintain and upgrade SRPGas Software as necessary to comply with any changes in SRP's gas accounting practices. Perform software analysis with Supply and Trade IT Support as needed to gather requirements for enhancements.
• Build, maintain and complete complex general ledger reconciliations to ensure financial statement accuracy.
• Review contracts entered into by SRP's Supply and Trade and Fuels. Provide timely and relevant contract feedback to SRP's Legal and Operations staff to ensure SRP is accounting for contract and tariff changes appropriately.
• Cultivate strong working knowledge of SRP's gas operations through regular engagement of Fuel Supply Management staff to ensure operational concerns are accounted for accurately and timely.
**Experience**
**Please note we are looking for someone who is a new college graduate up to 2 years of experience.**
Promotion to Level 2 requires a minimum of two years experience at Level 1 and demonstrated capability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by the supervisor.
Promotion to Senior Level requires a minimum of 3 years experience at Level 2, is fully competent in all aspects of functional area of assignment and as such would be recognized as a specialist in area of assignment and may have periodic or occasional lead responsibilities.
**Education**
Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.
**Hybrid Workplace**
SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
