Position Specific Description
Responsible for the reconciliation and settlement of third-party energy commodity purchases/sales and NEER Generating Assets merchant energy sales through the preparation and processing of settlement invoices. Provide settlement-related support to NEE’s trading organizations, NEER Business Management and other Finance/Accounting business units. Special projects as assigned by Accounting Manager.
Specific Responsibilities:
Accounting and Reporting Settlement, recording and reporting of bilateral and Independent System Operator (ISO) energy transactions in various energy markets including PJM, ERCOT, ISONE, MISO, CAISO, SPP and NYISO Settlement, reconciliation and reporting of Full Requirements, Unit Contingent, and Energy Management Services contracts with complicated settlement structuresResponsible for accurate and timely payment of daily/weekly/monthly ISO invoices Reconcile assigned deals, research discrepancies and resolve differences with ISO’s and counterparties Verify and review all open AR and AP prior to month end to ensure prompt payment to and from counterparties Maintain ISOLINK master data configuration and integrity, manage ISO data, work with IT to troubleshoot and correct data issues Assist manager with month end close activities performing review of estimates and actuals for NEER Assets, FR, EMS and other trader activities for various markets to ensure estimates are reasonable and complete Front-office P&L checkouts during month-end close, including Load Summary Report preparation and distribution Review and analysis of Renewable Energy Credit (REC) transactions including FR REC obligation accruals & deliveries, and REC Inventory transactions and balances Ensure prepayments are properly accounted for in the appropriate contract month and reporting period

This position will also work to identify settlement discrepancies and work with customers, schedulers and/or traders to resolve those discrepancies.
Job Duties & Responsibilities Under general supervision:• Prepares and analyzes closing reports, assists with ad hoc requests
• Responds to various information requests from internal and external auditors and other groups
• Assists with processing settlement invoices/purchase statements and for providing management with explanations (volumetric/valuation) for estimate to actual variances
