Primary Function:

 This is an entry-level position. A Grade III Setup is expected to learn set up and run current production tooling and equipment to efficiently manufacture good quality products. They should also begin to understand the extrusion and injection molding processes and parameters that can alter those processes. They should develop a basic understanding of the most commonly molded resins.

Job Duties:

Set up production tooling and equipment in order to produce a good quality product.Maintain records and documentation to permit standard duplication of the production equipment setup.
Develop an understanding of Statistical Process Control charting as it relates to solving or identifying process/product problems.Begin to develop technical knowledge through trade journals, classes, etc.Must attend Roundtable meetings and training programs related to the job.Learn to maximize departmental resources.Assist other technical team members as jobs/schedules demand.Help maintain good housekeeping.

REQUIRED ABILITY

Ability to conduct oneself with a high degree of professionalism at all times.Able to learn the extrusion and injection molding processes.Understand and follow company policy and procedures.Average reading comprehension skills.Basic math skills with the ability to learn to use statistics.Good communication skills, oral and written.Must have outstanding attendance.Must have good health, able to meet the physical challenge of the job (lots of time on feet, lifting, bending, twisting, pulling, pushing and working with heat).Must be able to meet the psychological demands of the job (high opportunity for frustration, changing priorities and not always working with clearly defined parameters).After an initial training period, be able to work with minimal assistance and supervision.Obtain a forklift license.Function safely in all aspects of the position.Ability to learn good business practices.Learn to set priorities within a defined schedule.Able to organize work assigned and carry it out in a time efficient manner.Must display good people skills (this includes a positive attitude, pleasant personality and ability to treat people with dignity and respect).Basic personal computer skills after departmental training.
