What You’ll Do
As a Setup operator, you’ll be part of our team located in New Britain, CT. You’ll get to:  

Set up, adjust and operate a coil feed machines to coat and bake paint on strip steel for blade stock.Maintain reporting log for substance used in machinery to meet environmental, health and safety regulationsLoad reels with coils and thread through a series of cleaning and coating rolls, baking ovens, cooling pulleysWeld end of coils to form a continuous stripUnload completed coils and place into four poster or stack on skidMonitor various stations of baking ovens and maintain required temperaturesInspect completed work, remove coils and stack as requiredCheck viscosity of paint and thin as requiredReplace worn or defective parts to keep the equipment in running condition and make repairs as neededChange and replenish supply of paintEnter production reporting to bar code systemFill out necessary work in process tickets or other paperwork as required

Previous machine set-up/operation experienceAbility to perform basic math – add, subtract, multiply whole numbers, fractions and decimalsBasic ability to read, write and communicate in EnglishDesire to learn new skills and improve technical knowledgeStrong orientation toward quality, safety and continuous improvementDemonstrated ability to effectively implement or respond to changeUnderstanding and support of Company policies and proceduresMust be able to continuously perform grasping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and walkingMust be able to handle continuous standing 8-10 hours dailyMust be able to perform frequent lifting up to 30 lbs independently and up to 60 lbs with assistance.Must be able to work in an environment with various changing temperatures for portions of the year.Must be able to work daily and weekly overtime as required.
