Job Title: Storage Engineer Description: We are seeking a Storage Engineer familiar with VMware, Nutanix, Windows Server, and NetApp. This role involves daily work in the storage space using Nutanix and NetApp, with a focus on virtualization in a 99% virtualized environment. Responsibilities include operational tasks such as administrative functions, patching Microsoft Windows, and handling break-fix tickets. Summary: The Storage Engineer is responsible for maintaining and implementing server and storage hardware infrastructure and applications to support the business environment. This role ensures the availability and security of enterprise systems by using advanced technologies to proactively identify and resolve issues. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: + Implement, manage, monitor, and maintain servers and storage systems, including Hyper Converged Systems, Virtualization, SAN/NAS, DFS, CIFS, on both Windows and Unix operating systems. + Support Microsoft SQL and Oracle DBMS, including clustering and Data Guard for high availability on both Windows and Unix operating systems. + Collaborate with staff to provide system support and improvements that benefit staff or members directly. + Develop plans for server, storage, database, and backup technologies that support business objectives and enhance member experiences. + Manage disaster recovery planning, design, and facilitation of server, storage, and backup/recovery systems. + Design, implement, and integrate highly available and secure server, storage, and backup/recovery technology services. + Document information system designs, standards, and procedures used to implement, manage, and maintain enterprise technology services. + Ensure the server, storage, database, and backup/recovery environments are reliable, secure, and meet or exceed business and regulatory compliance requirements. + Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: + Associate’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field. + 5+ years of work experience with proven expertise and effectiveness. + Certifications such as MCSE, VCP, and/or SCSN/NCDA. + Working knowledge of basic networking and security technologies such as TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, load balancers, and proxies.
