SUMMARY

BSPS, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking qualified Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator for the 29 Palms MCAGCC BOS Contract. We are looking for T1, T2, and T3 California Certified Operators to Maintain, Facilitate, and Operate the Main Water Treatment Plant located on the 29 Palms MCAGCC Base.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Operate and maintain the Wastewater Treatment Plant at 29 Palms MCAGCCSupport the operations and maintenance of the Wastewater Treatment Plant Support the operations and maintenance of the 29 Palms MCAGCC wastewater processingPerform routine and non-routine inspectionsCollect and run routine bench top analysis of various samplesCollect, document and report operating conditions of treatment equipment and systemsRecorded routine and non-routine activities during scheduled shifts  Perform housekeeping assignments as required for the facility Qualifications

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications (applies to both this section and KSAO’s)

T1 California Department of Environmental Quality Wastewater Treatment CertificationExperience with operating and maintaining conventional pretreatment water systemsExperience with reverse osmosis systemsValid California Driver’s License

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

Excellent customer service skills, including verbal communication and interpersonal relations skillsExcellent planning and organizational skillsBasic analytical and creative problem solving skills, along with a positive attitude and a willingness to learnProficient with Microsoft Office Suites software

Preferred

Knowledge of SCADA control systems from a user standpoint is desiredHigher Level Certification (T2 or T3)Wastewater Treatment Plant Experience

NECESSARY PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Job is performed in an office and field setting.  During work in the field setting, the candidate will be exposed to an environment typical of the southwest desert.   The candidate may also at times be required to work around chemicals typical of a water treatment facility
