Job Overview:

Linde is currently seeking a Safety, Health, and Environmental Specialist in the Deer Park, TX area. This mid-level professional position applies advanced safety and environmental knowledge at multiple facilities to all safety and environmental areas - fleet safety, personnel safety, process safety, and environmental in order to protect the health and safety of all company employees, as well as the surrounding communities and environments in which the company operates.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide leadership, guidance, and assistance in the prevention/control of accidents and incidents.
Collaborates with employees and supervisors to identify and correct potential safety/health hazards and environmental issues.
Can present and communicate safety and environmental training material effectively to all levels of employees and management.
Can positively influence employees to comply with safety standards, can hold employees accountable, and has an impact on employees to ensure work is safely accomplished.
Assures compliance with organizational and government environmental, health and safety standards.
Work with line management and plant managers to ensure support is provided in achieving performance goals in safety, health and environmental.
Provides training to new and current employees. Conducts safety meetings in conjunction with plant operations.
Support plant turnarounds and maintenance activities for both local facilities and facilities in the region where needed.
Coordinate accident/incident investigation, reporting and facilitation of Root Cause Analysis.
Prepare and submit environmental reports as required by regulations and permits.
Implements safe and environmentally compliant standard work practices with line personnel.
Identify opportunities to improve safety performance/conditions, take proactive actions to implement, and see projects through to completion.
Assists in conducting assessments (audits) of facilities outside the area of responsibility.
Monitor local OSHA (e.g., PSM), EPA (e.g., Title V), and DOT requirements and standards along with company policies and standards to ensure compliance.
Perform industrial hygiene monitoring if needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience
3 years of safety or operations experience required.
Ability to travel up to 35% including overnight stays.
Have a proficient working knowledge of computers, database entry, and typical computer programs (i.e., Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
Must be able to climb ladders and steps, lift-up to 50 lbs., and work at heights.
