Position Overview

The Shawgrass Brand Manager is responsible for developing and executing the brand and product strategy to elevate our brand position and customer experience while meeting the revenue and profitability targets established in the annual operating plan.  We are looking for a leader who is entrepreneurial, strategic, works well with others, and highly motivated to develop a lifestyle brand within a fast paced, innovative, and customer centric organization.  They must be able to navigate complexity and communicate effectively across the organization. 

Key responsibilities: 

Create Brand Plans - Develop and implement comprehensive brand plans inclusive of product, pricing, merchandising, and promotional strategy to achieve brand objectives.   

Direct and Implement Product Strategy - Working with a cross functional team including research & development, Innovation, marketing, sales, and other key stakeholders to create a product roadmap that anticipates the needs of end users and identifies product opportunities to create value. 

Manage Product Lifecycle - Lead the product cycle for the brand including streamlining product development and launch, SKU rationalization, being a catalyst for cross function collaboration, working to align market needs with efficient manufacturing processes, reviewing and working to ensure quality and service standards, and end of life management to ensure our product line is productive and financially additive. 

Financial Management - Establish and manage budgets for all brand initiatives ensuring KPIs are established for each project and those metrics are used to improve strategy and optimize results. 

Optimize Brand Voice to Create Brand Equity - Collaborate with Product development, Innovation, Marketing and across the organization to ensure the brand is consistently brought to life across all customer and consumer touchpoints enhancing the impact of the brand.  

Lead the Development of Sales Tools – Direct the creation of sales tools needed for our sales team and distribution partners to effectively communicate solutions to the market.  

Lead Creation of Brand Campaigns - Create integrated brand plans to engage customers across core market segments and help drive key initiatives aligned to the brand strategy. 

Brand Communication and Product Launches - Working closely with the Product Development, Innovation and Marketing to define product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies. The Brand Manager ensures that all marketing collateral and communication materials are aligned with the brand identity. 

Competitive Analysis - Analyze market trends, competitiveness, and customer insights to inform product and brand decisions.  

Brand Performance Tracking - Monitors and analyzes the performance of product and brand campaigns. Use various metrics and analytics tools to assess the effectiveness of campaign efforts and make data-driven decisions for future strategies. 

Collaboration and Relationship Building - Collaborates with sales, product development, innovation, marketing, operations, manufacturing, and customer service to ensure consistent brand messaging and customer experience.  Also, build relationships with end users, distribution partners, architects, and designers to amplify brand reach and visibility. 

Essential Duties:  

Lead the brand strategy and product development integrated work team (IWT).    

Successfully introduce and drive adoption of product solutions.   

Lead the Sales and Operations Planning process for Shawgrass and Southwest Greens as a function of the Integrated business Plan (IBP).   

Effectively communicate and execute the brand strategy. 

Elevate brand equity through the development and execution of innovative product solutions in alignment with the brand strategy.  

Non-essential Duties:  

Must have ability to make sound decisions based on customer, channel, and employee needs.  

Must have leadership abilities, exemplify professionalism, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive issues.  

Must develop and implement alternate solutions.  

Perform required duties within budget. 

Attend and actively participate in meetings as assigned.  

Other Requirements:  

Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or related field. 

3 years brand management, marketing, or related business experience  

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and customer insights.  

Must be self-motivated and possess good organizational skills.  

Requires excellent communication and leadership skills.  

Requires good time management skills.  

Must work well under pressure.  

Must conduct oneself professionally both in the workplace and the community.  

Accept assignments that require additional training.  

Must be a team player. 

Physical Requirements:   

Must be able to travel, unassisted and unsupervised.  

Must be able to adjust to the stress of meeting deadlines.  

Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.  

Training Requirements:  

Attending training as necessary.
