**Job Title: Shear Operator** **Job Description** Candidates will set up and operate power shear machines to cut steel, aluminum, and other materials. Responsibilities include blade changes, performing quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and measuring tape. Additionally, candidates will need to program the machine, layout parts (no drawings), and make modifications as needed. This position involves working in an architectural sheet metal shop, which may require heavy lifting, including sliding, flipping, and lifting full-length sheet metal throughout the day. **Responsibilities** + Set up and operate power shear machines to cut various materials + Perform blade changes and quality inspections using mics, cals, and measuring tape + Program the machine and layout parts without drawings + Make necessary modifications to parts + Handle heavy lifting, including sliding, flipping, and lifting full-length sheet metal **Essential Skills** + Experience with shear operations + Ability to read and interpret blueprints + Sheet metal fabrication skills + Proficiency in machine programming + Minimum of 3 years experience in layout and operation in a machine shop **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Hydraulic shear machine experience preferred **Why Work Here?** This is a small, family-owned business that offers significant opportunities for personal and technical growth.
