Job Title: Sheet Metal Operator
Job Description

We are looking to add two Sheet Metal Operators to our night shift team. The role involves the fabrication of raw materials by setting up and operating fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal; shaping metal; or inspecting, assembling, and smoothing sheet metal. You will ensure the selection of the correct raw material by following detailed instructions.

ResponsibilitiesLoad material into the machine and perform necessary operations to complete fabrication.Keep a written record of tasks performed, time required, and other necessary data.Maintain equipment, making repairs and modifications when necessary.Select raw material according to instructions.Maneuver and anchor large sheet metal parts.Essential Skills1-5 years of experience working in a warehouse setting or in logistics.Experience in operating material handling equipment preferred.High school diploma or equivalent qualification.Certification to operate a forklift preferred.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in shop welding, MIG welding, and spot welding.Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints.Familiarity with mild steel, fabrication processes, and working in a fab shop.Proficiency in using hand tools, tape measures, and various types of sheet metal.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

This is a typical shop environment that is not climate-controlled. You will be working with industrial, large equipment and machinery for the production of peanut combines. The night shift hours are from 5:00 pm to 3:30 am, Monday to Thursday, with potential overtime on Fridays.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SUFFOLK, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $23.00
