**HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanic**
**Charlotte, NC**
**Pay: $24-$27/hr**
**Job Description**
Supervise, coordinate, inspect, and perform the assembly, installation, and repair of HVAC sheet metal and duct components, subsystems, and systems during the construction, tenant finish-out, or remodel of commercial buildings. This role reports to an HVAC Superintendent and requires managing a crew of journeymen and apprentices.
**Responsibilities**
+ Prepare material take-offs, layout systems, and create isometric and schematic sketches from blueprints, specifications, submittals, and job orders.
+ Participate in job planning for work packages, site set-up, and construction schedules.
+ Eliminate construction and job site hazards to reduce safety incidents and their severity.
+ Organize, supervise, lead, and train crew members to complete projects within established guidelines and time frames.
+ Accurately estimate hours and materials for scheduled jobs.
+ Submit crew members’ timesheets to payroll by the deadline.
+ Operate and supervise the operation of equipment and machinery such as forklifts, man-lifts, and power tools.
+ Inspect work in progress and completed work to ensure conformance to specifications.
+ Coordinate placement and storage of materials, tools, and supplies to support the construction plan.
+ Ensure proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
+ Comply with and enforce all company and safety policies, procedures, and requirements.
+ Conduct regular tailgate safety meetings.
+ Attend operations meetings as required.
**Essential Skills**
+ HVAC installation
+ Blueprint reading and interpretation
+ Supervision of sheet metal and duct work
+ Proficiency with VAV systems
+ Experience with spiral duct systems
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ High school diploma or GED
+ 4 or more years of field-related experience
+ Valid Driver's License

**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr.
