Sheet Metal Workers/Machinists

We are currently seeking Sheet Metal Workers and Machinists to support our NAVSEA Carderock customer. This position is contingent upon contract award. 

Required Education (Sheet Metal): A high school diploma or GED. A minimum of ten years of relevant experience in sheet metal work. Proficiency in the operation of bending, forming, rolling, shearing, punching, stamping, spinning and water jet cutting. They shall have the ability to read and work from drawings and specifications.

Required Education (Machinist): A high school diploma or GED. A minimum of ten years of experience as a machinist. possess the verifiable ability to program and develop tool paths on machining projects using Geometric and Miscellaneous (G&M) code for wire electrical discharge machining (EDM); and three, four and five-axis machine centers, mills and lathes. Have experience operating CNC based multi-axis machine centers and lathes, as well as, conventional mills and lathes.

Desired Education:  Expertise in geometric dimensioning and tolerance practices. Experience performing precision hand grinding to tolerances of a plus or minus 0.010 inches. Experience with metal working for a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous materials, including but not limited to aluminum alloys, mild steels, high yield steels, stainless steels, copper, and bronze alloys. OR Skilled in the interpretation of complex engineered drawings, sketches and verbal communications. Experience determining proper tool types, feed rates and tool speeds for a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous materials, composite materials, reinforced and non-reinforced plastics, and rubber. Experience working with a variety of materials such as stainless steel (300, 400 and 17-4 PH series, aluminum (5000, 6000, and 7000 series), medium and mild steel, HY-80,100, HSLA-80 and 100 steel, pipe, structural steel, nickel aluminum bronze alloy, and titanium; and non-metallic and composite materials such as nylon, Delrin, ABS, PVC, and glass epoxy/polyester composites.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
