Tetra Tech Inc. Disaster Recovery (TDR) is currently seeking a Shelter Coordinator for a disaster recovery program for the state of Georgia. The successful candidate will provide crucial support to individuals and communities impacted by natural disasters.   

We work to ensure that those affected receive timely assistance, accurate information, and compassionate support.

Project Name: GEMA Disaster Program 

Job Summary: 

We are seeking a dedicated Shelter Coordinator to join our team. As a Shelter Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing case management services to disaster victims and assisting them in the recovery process. This role requires excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. 

Key Responsibilities:  

Assist clients in applying for disaster assistance programs and other financial support mechanisms.  Initiate and maintain weekly check in calls with assigned applicants.  Conduct thorough assessments of clients' disaster-related needs and develop individualized recovery plans.  Answer phone calls and direct clients to the appropriate assistance.  Coordinate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, nonprofits, and community organizations, to facilitate access to resources and services.  Maintain accurate and confidential case files and documentation in compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.  Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge of disaster response and recovery strategies.  Prior case management experience required.  Must have reliable transportation (Must use your own vehicle)   Have a valid driver's license.  Must be able to work on site and drive during operating hours to visit shelter locations.  Social work experience preferred.  Strong organizational and communication skills.  Ability to maintain professional demeanor during incidents.  Knowledge of social services resources and support systems. Proficient in MS Office.

Standard Schedule: 

This is a temporary assignment 

Monday to Friday  

8am – 5pm (1 hour Lunch) 

Work on the weekends may be required 

 

Pay Rate: $22/hour

 

In order to be considered for this position, your driving record must not indicate any of the following during the past 3 years: 

Punitive suspension, denial, or revocation of driver's license 

Conviction for impaired or intoxicated driving (DWAI, DUI, DWI) 

Conviction of reckless driving, driving with a suspended/denied/revoked license, hit and run or leaving the scene 

Conviction of 3 or more moving violations, at fault accidents or a combination 

 

This position with Tetra Tech is temporary and on an "as needed" basis and will end. It is understood that your employment is to be on an "at will" basis.
