OVERVIEW:
Employee, under the supervision of the Shelter Director and Deputy Shelter Director, will be responsible for providing shelter services to clients.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establish and maintain a safe and secure environment with an emphasis on non-violent communication and intervention Secure shelter guests’ personal property at intake and at various times throughout the day in designated storage areas Direct shelter guests in cleaning and caring for the shelter areas for sleeping Assisting with shelter guest intakes and appointments with shelter staff Monitor and assist shelter guests in laundry and day room areas Clean and sanitize all sleeping areas, bathrooms, kitchen, and office areas Any other duties relating to your job as requested by the Supervisors and/or Officers Other related duties as requiredEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent (required) Education and /or experience in social services/substance abuse (preferred) Experience with disadvantaged populations (preferred) 18 years of age (required)SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to coordinate and manage multiple duties. Ability to prioritize work and multi-task simultaneous projects Ability to communicate effectively and accurately Have good interaction skillsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (usually file boxes)EQUIPMENT USED:
